Jazz Workshop at Petosa Accordions

Description:

NAAC Board Member Gabe Hall-Rodrigues will present a workshop on how to use the bebop scale when improvising a solo over common jazz repertoire. He will discuss the application of this scale as well as how to effectively practice it in order develop melodic ideas and expand your jazz vocabulary. 

Presenter:

Gabe Hall-Rodrigues is an active performer and teacher in the greater Phoenix area  on accordion, piano and organ. He graduated from Arizona State University with a bachelor's degree in music therapy and a master's degree in jazz piano performance. Gabe is also an award winning accordionists and in 2010 won the American Accordionist's Association's US Virtuoso Solo Competition. Gabe has also presented workshops on jazz language and concepts at the American Accordionists' Association Annual Conference as well as the Frank Marocco Accordion Event.
